Need a hand to prepare your tax return?
Volunteers can help you prepare your income tax and benefit return if you have low income and a simple tax situation. Volunteers are not employees or volunteers of the Canada Revenue Agency. Remember to bring all your tax slips and forms with you.
ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS (who qualify): Individuals unable to prepare their income tax return on their own, low income individuals and social assistance recipients, newcomers to Canada, seniors, students, first nations, and simple tax situation.
INELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS (who don’t qualify):
INCOME TAX PROGRAM INCOME THRESHOLDS: if your income is more than these, you do not qualify
Taxpayer Status Family Income
Single person Up to $30,000
Couple (must attend together) Up to $40,000
One adult with one child Up to $35,000
Each additional dependent Up to $2,500
Interest income less than $1000
