WildSafeBC Presents: Wildlife Awareness and Safety
June 24 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT
Free
British Columbia has some of the greatest diversity of habitat and wildlife in Canada. It also has some of the highest numbers of bears, wolves and cougars.
Learn more about the animals that we live alongside and how to be safe by avoiding conflict and negative encounters.
At this free presentation, you will learn about:
• The species that live in our local area (such as bears, cougars, wolves and coyotes)
• Identifying wildlife and their foods, habitat, and behaviour
• How to react when you encounter wildlife to avoid conflict
• How to carry and use bear spray
There will also be a bear spray demonstration and opportunity to practice!
Attendance is free and kids are welcome.
Registration is not required to attend but is appreciated so we know how many people to expect.
