New last dates to file your taxes for 2019
New income tax filing and payment dates due to COVID-19…
The last date to file your 2019 taxes has been delayed to June 1, 2020, and the last date to pay any tax you owe has been delayed to September 1, 2020.
There will be no penalties or interest to pay if you pay before September 1, 2020.
Note: if you have received a Notice of Assessment from the CRA that says the deadline for payment is April 30, 2020 – this is incorrect.
DO IT YOURSELF (ONLINE):
* NETFILE – Use the CRA’s secure service to complete and file your return electronically using certified tax preparation software or a web tax application. Go to canada.ca/netfile for a list of software and applications you can use, including some that are free.
* EFILE – This is a secure CRA service that lets authorized service providers complete and file your tax return electronically. The list of free/paid tax software is here. Examples: SimpleTax, TurboTax
* USE AN ACCOUNTANT OT BOOKKEEPING BUSINESS
