Keep receiving benefits through COVID

Your benefits will not automatically be paid each month. Here is what you need to do to keep receiving your EI or CERB payments.

EI: If you applied for EI because of COVID-19

You need to go into the portal every 2 weeks to do your bi weekly report

To do the report, you’ll need your CODE that was mailed to you (up to10 business days after you first applied for EI).

If you didn’t receive your CODE by mail after10 business days, you can call Employment Insurance at 1-800-206-7218 (press 0 to speak to agent) to get your CODE over the phone.

CERB: If you did not qualify for EI, or you applied for CERB 

You need to reapply every 4 weeks.  Apply through My Account (CRA) or if you do not have a My Account call 1-800-959-2019, you will need to have your SIN number when calling.
