Community Volunteer Income Tax Program

The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) is run in partnership with the Whistler Public Library and Whistler Community Services Society . The program was introduced to help low income people and families get their taxes done- free of charge. Currently the Whistler Multicultural Network has nine trained CVITP volunteers that, together, helped 90 people in the Whistler community complete their taxes in 2016!

Need help in getting your taxes done?

The CVITP is available to single people making $30,000 or less or families/couples making $40,000 or less.

Volunteer are only trained to complete simple tax returns and cannot help you if your tax return involves self employment, rental income, capital gains, or complex investments.

Are you interested in volunteering for the program?

We are always looking for more volunteers to join our trained CVITP team. Volunteering for the CVITP is a great way to give back to your community, meet new people, and learn new skills.

You do not need to be good with computers or math to be a CVITP volunteer. We provide you with all the training you need in fun and friendly workshops so you are prepared to complete simple tax returns.
