We're back! Newcomer Services drop-in at Whistler Public Library are available every: Wednesday 1 pm - 4 pm / Friday 10 am - 12 pm
The Welcome Centre volunteer program is a way for newcomers to get valuable Canadian experience, learn about working and life in Canada, meet new people, practice communicating in English – in a friendly, supportive environment.
We invite newcomers to help us deliver our programs and services. In this way, you can get experience in Canada that you can use when looking for a job, and it’s a great way to meet some people, make some connections and friends.
We’ll provide you training and support to do the position. We are always happy to provide a work reference if you have volunteered with the Welcome Centre. After 6 months, or 50 hours, you can also add your volunteer experience at the Welcome Centre to your work resume.
There are a few different volunteering options to choose from, depending on your interests and the time you have available. We also offer our volunteers access to a range of free or subsidized training courses, and some positions may give you free entry to activities and events.
