Are you interested in setting up a WMN garden where we can grow herbs and vegetables that we can use in the Community Kitchens, but also that everyone can use and learn how to cook?
This was one of the ideas that came up at our April Advisory Board meeting last Monday (April 30). We may be able to take over the garden at Spring Creek now that Whistler Community Services is moving to Nesters. The beds are already there, we can use part of the building, and there is space for children to play too… In Pemberton, there is a very active PMN garden and they are happy to come tell us what they do, what they grow and help us decide what we grow in our garden. There will be a presentation and video about the Pemberton Garden at the Festival on June 8.
But if you’re interested, we’ll be discussing this more at our May Advisory Board meeting – so why not come along. If we want to grow some things this year, we’ll need to start planting!
In the meantime, here are the notes on our meeting last Monday – WMN AB minutes April 2018 – and if you want to keep up to date with all the things we do at the Welcome Centre, here’s our WMN Report April 2018.
SAVE THE DATE: Our May meeting will be on Monday May 28, at the Welcome Centre from 5.30 to 7pm.
